junior tennis

The Bass River Tennis Club Junior Program has classes for every age and skill level. We run an innovative Quick Start Program and the USTA 10 AND UNDER guidelines for compression balls and racquet length. Our season begins in September and runs through May. Our 36 week season is broken into three (3) sessions and can be pro-rated for late admittance. Those who wish to participate may need to attend a brief evaluation for proper placement.

All children participating in the clinic or team programs are required to take a Junior membership. The memberships are tailored to the age and skill level of our players. Anyone may take private or small group lessons with a Bass River teaching Pro. The fee is the lesson cost, plus the standard guest fee. All other programs are member only. No make-up classes or credits will be given for classes missed unless the class was canceled by Bass River due to inclement weather. Credits for injury will be given from the date the club is notified.

Membership to the Bass River Tennis Club is required for all players in the Junior Program. Three different memberships are available for children under the age of 18. The membership you choose is based on age, skill level, and the clinics/teams you select. Children in our age 3 & 4 classes will take our Tots membership. Our Quick Start membership is for all Level 1 and Level 2 clinic players. Students enrolled in all other programs, including Level 3 & 4 clinics, Junior Travel Team or High Performance Program must take the full 'Junior Membership'. This membership includes unlimited free court time! Juniors may book, like any member can, 3 days in advance.  For the court time to be FREE, it must be booked no more than 1 day ahead.  For any court booking beyond 1 day, regular court fees apply.

Additional questions can be directed to the Junior Program Coordinator, Mike Dolph by email or call 978-927-0102.
*A junior member's free court time pays for his/her half of the court. A non-member playing on the court pays for their half of the court fee. A non-member playing on a members court time will pay regular courts fees and a guest fee.  However, the club may waive a guest fee for a non-member sibling or parent of a junior member.  See the desk for details.

The Bass River Tennis Club is proud to again offer a North Shore Junior Travel Team. Boys and Girls interested in competitive singles and doubles are welcome to participate. Both the boys and girls teams will carry 4 or 5 players in each category (12 & under, 14 & under 16 & under and 18 & under). Matches are played on Saturday afternoon and a weekly practice is held on Friday. We ask our players to be available as much as possible from mid-September through Mid-April (matches and practices are off during vacation and Holiday weeks). Any player knowing they cannot make a commitment to team should not take a spot away from a player who can.. Membership is a requirement for participation in the North Shore League Travel Team Program regardless of age.
